To input and output Asian characters you must have the bundles shown in Table 1-1 “CDE Language and Bundle ” installed on your system. These bundles are installed by default and include Asian language enhancements to the system, tools, and manuals.

To confirm that the HPUXExtns-Jpn bundle is installed on your system type the following:

/usr/sbin/swlist -l bundle HPUXExtns-\*

If either the HPUXExtns-Jpn, HPUXExtns-Kor, HPUXExtns-SCh or HPUXExtns-TCh bundles are installed on your system, you will see a list similar to this (depending on which bundle is installed):
